Lucie Parent-Papi

Studio 113

Since Lucie can remember, she has always been interested in fabric arts—knitting, crocheting and sewing—all before the age of 10. In 1980, Lucie won first place for Canada in an international knitting contest. She spent many years creating unique garments for three yarn shops.

She has been an active Board member with Cool Arts Society for over seven years, volunteering to help with workshops and running a few in fibre arts to create quilts for the Cool Arts annual fundraiser.

Lucie became interested in fabric art sculpting in 2012 and earned her Paverpol teaching certificate the same year. She has since taken an advanced class to learn even more techniques.

When it comes to fabric art sculpture, Lucie likes to challenge herself to reuse materials such as electrical wire, t-shirts, foil and whatever else she can find. She then combines these with Paverpol, a textile hardener.
