Black Lives Matter today and every day.
As the awareness increases and conversations continue around systemic racism and institutionalized racism both here in Canada and around the world, the Rotary Centre for the Arts would like to reaffirm its commitment to inclusivity, diversity, respect and equality. We also commit to continuing to listen, learn and to change as needed.
We also recognize that the Rotary Centre for the Arts is situated on the unceded and traditional territories of the syilx/Okanagan People. We’re grateful to be guests in such a beautiful place, and we acknowledge that Indigenous lives matter too.
At the RCA, we know that diversity makes our institution and our community stronger, and we strive to maintain a diversity of people, ideas, perspectives and cultural backgrounds in our work, programming and team. We also aspire to provide the opportunity for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to actively engage and participate in the arts.
Dismantling centuries of racist policies and social inequities will not happen overnight, but we’re committed to doing our part to make Kelowna and the Okanagan a more inclusive, welcoming, equitable and artistic place.
