Great West Life Mezzanine Exhibition
In a class all her own, you cannot classify Nikki as merely a photographer. As a portraitist, her commissions aren’t even true representations at all. In fact, Nikki strives to create portraits that are NOT reality – but rather, a version of someone.
More than just a frozen moment, she wants each visual to tell a story. By design, the image makes the viewer wonder about what happened before, what was on the subjects mind, and what may have happened after. Always, without exception, there is an element of romance in ones own solitude.
With deep gazing eyes and a sense of empowerment, it is clear to see that there is an intensity that Nikki puts into each commission.
“There are no weak or sad women in my style, I feel like the hardships I have been through in my life, and subsequent strength born of that, is shown through the women I photograph. I love nothing more than showing women MY version of them.”
