Madelyn Hamilton July 2019

in the Alex Fong Galleria

Madelyn has been a West Kelowna resident for many years. Her home is situated on a wilderness ravine edge. This is a key influence for her semi abstract, highly textured creations on wood panels that focus on the concerns of our natural surroundings.

For this artist, the act of creating has been a lifelong process. Youthful scribblings, drawings and paintings were ongoing. Then, night classes or correspondence courses satisfied the ‘learning need’.  Serious education began in Kelowna, where she earned her Fine Arts Diploma from Okanagan College. Later, Madelyn acknowledged her desire for a serious art challenge by completing the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at UBCO.  Her perspectives, approaches to art and expressive means took new directions.  As Madelyn understands it, there is no end, only new beginnings.

This artist shows in venues both locally and provincially. Between shows, she is regularly in her home studio.  Visitors are welcome, by appointment. Madelyn markets her own work.
