Galleria - an open exhibition space available primarily for experienced, professional artists. The space is approximately 100 ft x 12 ft. with a very high ceiling, six skylights, and limited spotlighting. Two-dimensional works can be hung on nails.
Mezzanine - located upstairs and perfect for small exhibitions. Its open concept allows for plenty of light from the Atrium, as well as from spotlighting. Two-dimensional works are hung on nails. This space is for long-term and up-and-coming professional artists.
South Atrium - floor to ceiling windows and truly distinctive space. Two-dimensional works will be hung from a support on the wall with monofilament. This space is perfect for amateur artists.
Display Cases - can be seen from the South Atrium as well as the dance studio hallway. They are securely locked and are perfect for three-dimensional works. This space is intended to feature semi-professional artists. Dimensions are 5’6.5” tall, 3’3.5” wide, and 1’3” deep.
1st Floor Studio Hallway – this space is located on the first floor on the south side of the building. This space is intended for community art exhibitions, from novice artists and groups to amateur artists. Two-dimensional works can be hung on nails.
2nd Floor Studio Hallway – this space is located on the second floor on the south side of the building. This space is curated by Artsco and features up-and-coming, professional, Okanagan-based artists.
RCA Art Wall – this space is designed to feature professional and semi-professional medium- and large-scale visual artworks that can be exposed to rain and sun. Works must be able to be mounted on the horizontal wooden beams that are attached to the wall. This space is curated by Artsco.
The Rotary Centre for the Arts (RCA) is currently accepting art submissions for our gallery spaces.
Works will be selected by our Programming Committee based on the following criteria:
The RCA values diverse and unique perspectives, mediums, and themes in our gallery spaces.
Our gallery spaces are well-suited for professional artists and amateurs, and everyone in between. Upon submission, the RCA team will determine if your work fits our vision for the year. We will then propose a gallery space and time period (usually lasting two to four months.)
We welcome submissions from under-represented artists of all backgrounds including, but not limited to, Indigenous, Black, and racialized persons; refugee, newcomer and immigrant persons; two-spirit, LGBTQ+ and gender non-binary persons, persons with diverse abilities, and those on low-incomes or living in poverty.
