The Rotary Centre for the Arts is hosting inclusive dance artist Sarah Lapp. Originally from Vancouver BC, Sarah is co-founder of All Bodies Dance Project – a dance company for people with and without disabilities who want to explore movement as a creative expression. (www.allbodiesdance.ca)
Sarah has relocated to Kelowna and is passionate about offering and facilitating sessions that will foster similar values through inclusive teaching practice.
In mixed ability dance, differences become creative strengths as participants explore the amazing choreographic possibilities of wheelchairs, crutches and canes, and celebrate diverse ways to move and perceive.
In Fall 2018, All Bodies Dance Kelowna will begin as a pilot project with 5 weeks of Saturday sessions. Sarah is looking for an artistic collaborator who is willing to invest in its success and sustainability.
- Available for 2-3 hours a week for scheduled classes (commencing Saturdays in October) and to meet with Sarah for class preparation and training
- Experienced in contemporary dance and improvisational practice and comfortable demonstrating improvisational scores from a standing dancers perspective.
- Passionate about the inclusion of all participants and able to support an inclusive space (cognitive and physical disabilities, all ages and gender identities.)
Please contact email@example.com and tell us about yourself, your dance experience and your connection to Disability Arts. Apply by July 1, 2018.
