Kim Bauer

Studio 113

Kim is a self-taught fiber and mixed-media artist. Her art is inspired by her love of nature and influenced by “making do” with found or thrifted resources. Leaving a light footprint behind her is important as she honors the humblest of materials in her art.

She enjoys exploring different techniques and the freedom of mixing up her media. You’ll see lots of texture, torn or frayed materials in her work as well as “frottage” graphite rubbings of natural objects or Grandmas’ button box.

She is continually learning and evolving as an artist. Her classes inspire resourcefulness, allow the incorporation of your own treasures or found materials and explore traditional techniques in a modern, artful way.
