An Evening with Martin Kerr blends together an intimate evening of songs and stories with the award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter. With his red-hair and crystal-clear tone, he caught the eye of the Canadian Idol judges and viewers in 2008, reaching the top 16 on Canada's most watched show.
He has performed sold shows and brought audiences coast to coast to their feet with his incredible stage presence, storytelling, and heartfelt music. A ‘must-see’ evening of music awaits this April at the Mary Irwin Theatre.
Martin Kerr might be the only artist in the world to have played 400 live shows during the pandemic. When Covid19 cancelled all his touring and festival plans for the foreseeable future, he launched his now signature Stay Home Street Concerts as a way of continuing to bring music and joy to the people who needed it the most.
From driveways, balconies, and front lawns, every show finished with the whole street singing ‘You’re Amazing’, the uplifting, instantly singable hit from Kerr’s latest album. ('You're Amazing' has earned radio play across Canada, the UK and the Netherlands and climbed to #4 on the Spotify Viral Chart.)
Often compared to James Taylor and John Denver, and more recently Ed Sheeran, Martin Kerr's voice and songwriting touches hearts of all ages and backgrounds. His captivating live performance is an emotional journey of heartfelt stories lit up by his trademark British wit. You'll laugh out loud about the internet stalker who became his wife, weep for the Chinese farmer whose story is told in the song 'Mr. Liao' and finally sing 'You're Amazing!' to complete strangers at the top of your voice.
In a few short years Martin has gone from busking on street corners to selling out major theatres, playing huge festivals and landing his album in the Canadian Top 10, all as an independent artist. Now signed with Nettwerk Records, he’s about to go global.
