Come join Evolve Arts Collective (EAC) and take part in Kelowna Culture Days at the Rotary Centre for the Arts! Enjoy a sneak peek viewing of a brand new show in development followed by a screening of Provoke - A Fringe Show and Q&A with EAC founder, Kurt Werner. Our show in development is a one-man show called Is It My Time? Catch a glimpse as to what a dancer goes through while working on their craft. As they move, what are they thinking about? What is their driving force to keep going? What is working in their creative process like? One moment, he passes back and forth between dance sequences and one-sided conversations and whimsically carries himself through the regiment of dance. The next, he feels the weight and hardship of the long pursuit of obtaining his dream career. All this leads up to one of the biggest questions of a dancer’s life. Is it my time? Provoke - A Fringe Show is a showcase of two dance works that are meant to help be a conversation starter on topics that have become more prevalent in today’s society, by providing a different platform to share an interpretation of these topics to hopefully bring newfound exposure and understanding for audience members while provoking deeper conversations afterwards.
