Strengthening Sustainable Communities

How do we cultivate a living relationship with the lands of the Okanagan? As a learning community of educators and students, each of us contributed a part to make this exhibit whole. UBCO teacher candidates and Dr. Seiki pulled invasive weeds from their campus grassland restoration site, and transformed the weeds into paint. Becki gathered us together into a team working alongside Georgia and the Shannon Lake Elementary teachers and their fifth-grade classes to express their love for the land through art using the paint. Andrew worked his magic with the installation. Each contribution strengthened our connection to the land. We hope you are inspired to join us in living out a land acknowledgment.
