Artist Statement

Dawn Twerdoff is a self-taught artist with a passion for watercolour. Her interest in the medium began when she was teaching in Coquitlam but grew when she relocated to Kelowna. She paints a wide variety of subjects, but she truly enjoys figurative painting “I like to paint people doing things.” Her paintings are inspired by the effects of light and shadow. “I am constantly chasing the light.” Dawn most recently displayed her work at Lake Country Artwork this past fall. The Rotary Centre for the Arts, Vibrant Vines Winery, Ancient Hills Winery and Summerland Ornamental Gardens have all had showings of her work resulting in her paintings finding homes far and wide.
