Gerald Siemens
Born in Kitimat BC, 1965
Gerald spent some of his childhood living with the owner of a game farm near Penticton which sparked his keen interest and adoration of wildlife and their habitat.
In the spring of 1991 Gerald realized his natural talent for drawing after casually sketching his first owl. Gerald was then inspired to take out every book in the library on drawing and learn all that he could, eventually honing his skills to become the artist that he is today.
Gerald's artistic inspiration is Robert Bateman and in 1992 Gerald was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Bateman where Gerald presented him with a drawing he had done of his favorite artist. Mr. Bateman autographed Gerald's portrait and wished him good luck with his art, therefore strengthening Gerald's confidence and steadfast commitment to becoming the best wildlife artist he could be.
Gerald has since branched out into different mediums including pastels, oil paints and acrylics. He has produced over a hundred artworks and keeps getting better with every piece. Gerald is also an amateur photographer and aspires to one day share his knowledge of drawing with others and become an art teacher.
