In Print We Trust

Artist Statement

In Print We Trust  brings together printmaking artists from all levels who work with varying print mediums and approaches. From lino to screenprint, etching to litho, this exhibition aims to highlight the diverse range of print techniques artists in the community are working with. In Print We Trust also aims to prove that print is not dead! Despite its long history and competition with digital printing and media based art, print artists continue the long tradition of carving, etching, and using our hands to make one of a kind originals. Artists included in this exhibition include: Rho Shaw, Reuben Scott, Arianne Tubman, Hana Hamaguchi, Rena Warren, Shauna Oddleifson, Fredrik Thacker, Briar Craig, Katya Meehalchan, Peyton Lynch, Mariah Miguel-Juan, Taylor Carruthers, Michaela Bridgemohan, Natasha Harvey, Asahna Hughes, Angela Wood, Laura Widmer, Heather Yip, Heather Leier, Roseanne Bennet, and Tania Willard.

Artist Biography

The Laundry Room Collective is an artist-run collective founded by Brooklyn Bellmond and Moozhan Ahmadzadegan with the support of their community in 2019. The Laundry Room Collective was established to foster arts related projects as a means of creating and building up community. We aim to support emerging artists, foster dialogue, engage in experimental ideas, and collaborate with the creative folks in our community and beyond. We are committed to making space for BIPOC and queer voices and practices, as well as other groups that are often left out of spaces and narratives. Through inclusive and collaborative projects and programming the Laundry Room Collective aims to meaningfully contribute to the creative community. The Laundry Room Collective gratefully acknowledges that we are guests here on the traditional and unceded territory of the Okanagan syilx people. We recognize, honour and respect the presence of Indigenous people, past, present and future.
