Artist Statement
Presence and Memory is a collection contemplating the beauty of life. Through the creation of these pieces, colour, and line were in focus, producing impact for a wide audience through common themes of nature and self.
Solitude and grief are found, sometimes through stark lines and other times through distant forms.
A sense of belonging is sought through connection and passion.
Knowledge of self is discovered through creation.
There is a need for being present, while still learning from our past. The joy and pain from what came before is what forms our present and creates our future. Only with this in mind may we look to what is ahead with hope for tomorrow.
