The Ponderosa Fibre Arts Guild presents a look at their art, their tools, and their materials:
Window 1 pays tribute to the knitters and crochet hookers.
To knit or to crochet? Why not do both? Many Guild members are accomplished knitters and know how to crochet too. Why not ask to learn? Guild members love to share their knowledge. The Guild even offers needles hook, yarn and more from the free fibre library upstairs beside Studio 204.
Window 2 pays tribute to the spinners who create an abundance of beautiful yarns.
Spinners use combed and often dyed wool fibre and transform it into strong yarn. Spinning and plying are ancient arts that are still enjoyed today.
Window 3 pays tribute to the sheep, the weaver and the weaving loom.
Although fibre artists may use silk and synthetic fibres at times, for the spinner, weaver, felter, knitter, and crochet hook artist, it usually all starts with fleece from a sheep.
