Eliminating small, single use products and packaging goes a long way towards reducing our environmental footprint. However, equally important is thinking BIG, about extending lifespans of our buildings and community spaces.
Think Big is about locals working with artists to slow down the tear-down of buildings and to rejuvenate the spirit of their communities, through visual storytelling.
Doh Eain, an inspirational design collective in Yangon, is featured in this exhibit. Prior to the 2021 military coup, Doh Eain partnered with locals transforming derelict back alleys into healthy living spaces in Myanmar’s sprawling capital city of 5.5 million.
Think Big also features the talent of students from Kelowna’s Centre For Arts And Technology (CAT), who will provide art panels featuring Living History (Vernon), Bold and Beautiful (Rutland) and Community Unity (Summerland, Osoyoos and Kelowna).
One of the feature artists in Think Big is Tyler Toews, whose work can be seen across Canada. This year he is preparing a new mural for the Rutland Uptown Mural Project. (canadianmurals.com)
