Sprit Seeds

Artist Statement

It is my dream to help people find their magic through connecting with the magical and powerful energy of the BC forest. Allowing people to carry a little piece of BC wherever they travel through living pinecone jewelry called Spirit Seeds.

This art display showcases the magical creations and world of Spirit Seeds Pinecones. I have curated natural elements from various landscapes in British Columbia, places from where I owe a deep gratitude for the peace and stillness they have brought into my life.

I channel my passion for hand crafting, nature and BC into living jewelry. I use the gifts found in the forests to create jewelry with the intention to spread the seed of internal stillness found from being within nature. Through stillness and calm, creativity is born.

This display showcases all the elements I love most from the different areas of BC that I have explored. I use each to create the Spirit Seeds feeling and to help people reconnect with the natural world.

The far left display features the dry and desert-like forest materials of Kelowna where I climb and source the pinecones. These were some of the first forests I explored when I arrived here.

The right display case shows my love and passion for West Coast nature. Moss has a special place in my heart and is an important element for my displays. I collect the moss from the ancient and lush forests of West Coast Vancouver, creating a beautiful synergy with the pinecones.

The display in the middle merges the biodiversity of the two regions, which visually demonstrates my vision for spirit seeds as more than a piece of art, but as a healing touch for the soul. I want to show the dynamic beauty found in this amazing part of the world and to inspire people to get back into the forest and connect with nature, and experience it for themselves. Through stillness, calm and relaxation creativity, joy and happiness can arise.

Please enjoy this display and all the magical elements that British Columbia has to offer.

Artist Biography

Within the special peace and quiet of the BC forests, in the space of stillness, I learnt calm and relaxation allows the nervous system to calm and decompress. It allows the mind to settle and the heart to open. In this place of calm one can start to listen to the true self. Hearing and feeling what you really love, and what makes you excited. Following this “inner child” brings joy, gratitude, excitement and clarity. It allows you to chase what you love and start following your dreams. I developed a connection with my inner self, spirit, soul. It brought awareness to what makes me truly happy and I started to follow what I loved. Chasing what lit my soul on fire. Which was to inspire people to connect with nature, find this stillness inside and start following what they love and what makes them shine, just as I did. Within calm and relaxation true creative expression lies. I want to share this forest magic, to help others to feel this internal stillness and joy. I wanted to create something that would allow anyone to feel this energy from BC.

I started Spirit Seeds in 2014, creating jewelry with living pinecones filled with active seeds, natural gemstones each with their own unique vibration, and lots of love. Creating jewelry that gives a living forest and its energy to wear at any moment. Allowing one to connect with nature at any point, a reminder to stay in the place of stillness and to feel and follow what you love brings excitement. I aim to inspire and help people to grow, to connect back to nature, to connect back to the self and to connect to the world around you. Spirit seeds are more than a beautiful piece of art, they are a healing touch for the soul. To connect with nature, connect with yourself, and with the world around you. Follow the stillness and all will unfold. Every piece is handmade, every pinecone is hand collected, a huge amount of skillful handcrafting and love goes into each one. Every Spirit seed has 197 steps, all done by hand. Taking 5 days for create. Each will last a lifetime.

All journeys begin with an idea, a vision of how you want to affect this world. My journey started with a dream to inspire creativity, to create connections, and share the magic of pinecones. When I first arrived in BC, Canada In 2011, one of the first things I noticed was the energy felt in the Forest. There is a magic within nature here, an energy that I had not felt before. Such a quiet, peaceful and beautiful place. It allowed a feeling of stillness, calm and peace internally that was so new to me. I started spending a huge amount of time from this feeling of stillness.
