The RCA will be hosting Culture Days events and activities on September 24-26 and October 1, 8, 15, and 22.
Culture Days is a national campaign that promotes inclusivity, awareness, participation, and engagement in arts and culture in Canadian communities. Through an annual event full of free activities, Culture Days highlights the notion that culture is for everyone, regardless of age, geography, background, or income.
Culture Days was initiated by the Canadian Arts Summit in 2010, inspired by the success of Québec’s Journées de la culture weekend. It has since generated enthusiastic interest, participation, and support from a growing network of artists, organizations, municipalities, media, and both the private and public sector across Canada. After a decade of success, Culture Days has expanded beyond the weekend to support year-round communications initiatives aimed at strengthening the sector and inspiring public discourse about the value of arts and culture.
This year, Culture Days national, provincial, and municipal events will take place between Friday, September 24 - Sunday, October 24, with Culture Days activities happening at the RCA on September 24-26 and October 1, 8, 15, and 22.
For the fourth year in a row, the RCA will act as an official Culture Days Hub, offering several of our spaces, free of charge, to artists and arts and cultural organizations in the community to run Culture Days activities. Due to provincial guidelines regarding safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the RCA’s commitment to the health and safety of its artists, tenants, and guests, programming will be in accordance with all Health Authority orders. Program details will be announced as they are confirmed.
