Arts Blast Camps at the Rotary Centre for the Arts aren’t just about making art. They’re about doing art in a real performance space, together. Designed for kids aged 5–12, the focus is on collaboration over competition, creativity over perfection, and play over pressure. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to try, imagine, and have fun.
Each week, campers spend their days collaborating, experimenting, and building confidence through music, movement, storytelling, and play. With guidance from professional artist-instructors, kids explore activities including drama, theatre, music and dance, painting and sculpture, and bring their own ideas to life in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The week culminates in a joyful moment many camps simply can’t offer: a casual, celebratory performance on our 320-seat professional theatre stage, the Mary Irwin Theatre. Campers share what they’ve created with family and friends, learning what it feels like to step into the spotlight with confidence, curiosity, and pride.
Led by practicing artists who know how to meet kids where they are, Arts Blast Camps are a unique chance for young people to explore music, theatre, and storytelling in one of Kelowna’s most inspiring creative spaces.
