We are thrilled to announce that Phase 2 of our new theatre lighting installation was recently completed at the Rotary Centre for the Arts. This marks a significant milestone in our journey to continually improve and modernize our theatre's capabilities.
We thank the Government of Canada’s CCSF (Canada Cultural Spaces Fund) for the matching financial support, which has been instrumental in making this project possible. Additionally, we owe a debt of gratitude to our theatre patrons. Every ticket sold to our theatre contributes $1.75 to our Capital Improvement Fund (CIF), allowing us to fund continuous upgrades as a non-profit organization. Your support ensures that we can keep bringing state-of-the-art experiences to our stage. Combined Phase 1 and Phase 2 represent a $200,000 upgrade to better serve the nearly 200 clients, the majority are other non-profit groups) that rental our theatre throughout the year.
While Phase 1 focused on creating the infrastructure to support current technologies, Phase 2 is where we get to add the fun stuff. One of the most exciting additions will be the nine moving spotlights. These versatile theatrical lights can project several patterns, rotate, pulsate, and create many other effects. They will provide a vivid, textured, and dynamic environment on stage, enhancing the wide variety of productions we present and host.
In addition to the moving spots, we are also installing brand new LED cyc lights. These lights will be able to provide a backdrop of lush, vibrant colors, adding a new dimension of visual appeal to our performances.
Phase 2 will undoubtedly provide a plethora of new effects to further dazzle our patrons. We are excited to see how these enhancements will elevate our productions and offer an even more immersive and engaging experience for our audiences.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we work towards making the Rotary Centre for the Arts a premier venue for the arts. We are already working on plans for the third and final Phase of this project as we raise the next $150K of funding required. If you can help support this next phase, reach out, we would love to hear from you.
We can't wait to share these exciting new improvements with you!
